K factor vortex flow meter

A vortex meter measures the downstream vibrations. The function is very easy as the downstream vibrates it gives a signal to the barrier that is placed to move in a stream. This frequency of vibrating filed of a vortex can also be compared to the velocity of flow. A vortex meter is also known as vortex shedding flow meters or oscillatory flow meters.

The density of a magnetic field and the pipe diameter have fixed values, therefore the value (k) is combined just to reduce the equation. The function of a magnetic flow meter basically lies on the famous Faraday’s Theory of electro-magnetic induction. Mag-meters are used to find out the current of conductive liquids. The magmeter flow meter basically is a mixture of non-magnetic tube with an insulating material. If there is a flow of liquids through the diameters of the pipe to the magnetic-field density that is produced by the spiral, then the power that is developed across the electrodes would be proportional to the velocity of the liquid that is flowing. As discussed before the value ‘K’ just acts as a calibration factor to simplify the equation and make it easy. Difference of velocity at other positions of the profile of flow is always compensated by signs of weighing factors.
